Purpose statement
The purpose of the Cottage Grove, Woodbury and Saint Paul park area Ethiopian and Eritrean Community website is to serve as a central hub for our members and the local neighborhood. We are dedicated to:
• Cultural Preservation: Honoring and sharing the rich traditions, languages, and histories of Ethiopia and Eritrea with our children and the wider Minnesota community.
• Connection & Networking: Providing a platform for families and individuals to connect, reducing isolation and building lasting friendships.
• Resource Sharing: Offering guidance on local services, education, and professional opportunities to help our members navigate life in Cottage Grove effectively.
• Empowerment: Supporting our youth through mentorship and educational initiatives that bridge the gap between our heritage and our future.
• Advocacy: Acting as a collective voice to represent the interests and contributions of our community within local government and civic life.
ዓላማ (Purpose)
• ባህልን መጠበቅ፦ ውድ የሆኑትን የኢትዮጵያና የኤርትራ ታሪኮችን፣ ቋንቋዎችን እና ባህሎችን ለልጆቻችንና ለአካባቢው ማህበረሰብ ማስተዋወቅና ማስተላለፍ።
• ግንኙነትን ማጠናከር፦ በግለሰቦችና በቤተሰቦች መካከል ጠንካራ ትስስር እንዲኖር በማድረግ ማህበራዊ መገለልን ማስወገድና ዘላቂ ወዳጅነትን መገንባት።
• መረጃና ድጋፍ ማቅረብ፦ አባላት በኮቴጅ ግሮቭ አካባቢ የሚገኙ ማህበራዊ አገልግሎቶችን፣ ትምህርታዊና የሥራ ዕድሎችን በቀላሉ እንዲያገኙ መርዳት።
• ወጣቶችን ማብቃት፦ ወጣቶች በባህላቸው እየኮሩ በአሜሪካ የኑሮ ዘይቤ ስኬታማ እንዲሆኑ የሚያስችል የምክርና የድጋፍ አገልግሎት መስጠት።
• ድምፅ መሆን፦ የማህበረሰቡን ፍላጎትና አስተዋጽኦ ለአካባቢው መስተዳድርና ለሲቪክ ተቋማት በጋራ ድምፅ ማሳወቅ።
